An In-depth Look Into the Leadership Key Components of the STEP Safety Management System

Join ABC National safety staff and contractors leading the industry in safety for a deep dive into the leadership key components of the STEP Safety Management System. This webinar is the first in a series that will focus on STEP’s contractor key components in leadership commitment, cultural transformation, process and results to teach members how they can implement the STEP Safety Management System at their own companies.

ABOUT THE PRESENTERS

Michael Bennett is vice president at The Cianbro Cos., a 100% employee-owned, self-performing general contractor that provides diverse construction services in 41 states. An AQC and STEP Diamond participant, Cianbro strives to send their team members home in better condition than which they arrived every day. Bennett chairs ABC’s National Health and Safety Committee. He has served on ABC Maine Chapter’s board of directors since 2000 and as chair in 2008 and 2018. Bennett also serves on the NCCER board of trustees and is its immediate past chair.

Sandra Roche is the vice president and general counsel of Roche Constructors Inc., a commercial general contractor based in Greeley, Colorado. Roche has been with the family-owned company for 26 years. She is the ABC 2021 Mountain West region vice chair.

Frank Trujillo, CSP, MSOS, MBA, is the vice president of safety for Miller and Long Concrete Construction. He has worked as a construction industry safety professional for 18 years and has serves as vice president of safety for Miller and Long Concrete Construction for the last 10 years, focusing on tackling difficult issues like silica exposures, falling object protection and crane safety. He serves on the ABC National Health and Safety Committee and is a member of ANSI A10.

Steve Wiltshire, director of safety, ABC National, develops and deploys safety education programs to help ensure that ABC members send workers home safe every day. In his more than 40 years in industrial, commercial, residential and heavy civil construction markets, he has designed and implemented award-winning safety programs, behavior-based training and loss control processes to create a culture of safety at ECS, Turner, Clark, AvalonBay and other construction firms in the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area. Among his many contributions to OSHA committees, industry stakeholder groups and advisory councils, he has been an active member of ABC’s Health and Safety Committee for more than 20 years.
