WASHINGTON, April 24—Associated Builders and Contractors Vice President of Legislative and Political Affairs Kristen Swearingen today issued the following statement on the signing of the Paycheck Protection Program and Health Care Enhancement Act, which provides additional funding for PPP loans:

“ABC applauds the important action taken by the White House and Congress to reach this bipartisan deal, which will help support the nation’s small businesses as they continue to deal with the devastating impacts of this health and economic crisis. PPP loans have served as a vital lifeline for more than 177,000 small businesses in the construction industry, and this additional funding will help ensure that ABC members have the liquidity and resources needed to remain in business and provide pay and benefits for hardworking U.S. workers. ABC will continue to work with our lawmakers and administration officials to provide critical relief and get our nation’s construction industry and workforce safely back to work.”
