WASHINGTON, July 6—Associated Builders and Contractors today announced the cancellation of ABC Convention 2020, which was scheduled for Aug. 17-19 in Nashville, Tennessee. The event, which includes the National Craft Championships, Construction Management Competition and National Excellence in Construction® Awards, was previously postponed from March due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“While it was disappointing to cancel the ABC Convention 2020, the health and safety of our members, staff and partners amid the COVID-19 outbreak is our utmost priority,” said Michael Bellaman, ABC’s president and chief executive officer. “Due to the conditions of Nashville’s phased reopening schedule and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations, we were unable to safely deliver ABC Convention 2020 programming and events as planned. We look forward to celebrating the best of the merit shop construction industry at next year’s convention in Texas.”

ABC Convention 2021 will be March 9-11, 2021, at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center in Grapevine, Texas.

In lieu of in-person events, ABC has hosted more than 50 webinars for ABC members attendees since March, which have provided critical updates and guidance on workplace safety, applying for government emergency aid, economic impacts, legal concerns, regulatory changes and more.
